Enabling evidence-based decision making for cities

CPL has developed a suite of agile Urban Planning Tools and platforms to empower cities to get on top of their data, for better city management and civic planning.

TOOLS: GEOPORTAL

One Data Portal

One Data Portal is a centralized data platform or geoportal which not only brings together all types of data, spatial and non-spatial, from all agencies in an organized way, but it also easily connects with other portals and becomes the umbrella for all data portals in the city.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Geoportal

The Geoportal is a web platform that allows users to create, store, manage, analyze and share spatial information online, underpinning the development of Spatial Data Infrastructure at local and national levels.

Its technical standards allow it to integrate with other platforms and software to catalog, process, edit and download geospatial data.

TOOLS: ANALYSIS

Urban Performance

UP assesses a city’s present and future performance by creating multiple growth scenarios that include investment projects, public policies, and land regulations. This enables a broader, accurate, and more rapid decision-making evaluation based on quantitative evidence which advances consensus between different actors. The results are analyzed taking the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) as a reference.

TOOLS: ANALYSIS

SuitAbility

SuitAbility helps identify optimal investment locations for the implementation of a specific policy or project within a city, as well as aiding in the detection of prone disaster areas, reducing risk, and strengthening resilience. It supports national urban planning agencies and city governments to perform land suitability assessments to plan for infrastructure and services deficits at the city and local levels, enabling inter-departmental coordination and consensus-building.

TOOLS: ANALYSIS

CollabData

CollabData is a robust digital platform that captures the communities’ needs, challenges and ground realities, strengthens public consultations and simplifies the analysis of collected data with powerful visualizations.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, the World Bank’s Data Innovation Fund supported the adaptation of a module of CollabData as Siap Tanggap in Indonesia. This tool was used to monitor the socioeconomic impacts on local communities. SIAP allows citizens to report their most pressing needs and guarantees that city governments can respond in line with national regulations.
